Ten things in my Bedroom

Hello my lovelies!

Today is going to be a very casual post just so you can get to know me a bit more (and have a bit of a nose into my room!)

So here are ten random things that are currently in my bedroom.

Sorry if you see mess in the background of any photos, but at least it's a honest perspective of my room!

I am also in the process of changing my wallpaper so if you can see random samples stuck to the wall that is why! :)

My mirror with make-shift earring holder!
 Jewellery Tree
Ciate Paint Pot in 'Pocket Money' and a Midnight Jasmine Yankee Candle
A few of my books
Notice board with a little ShopDixi card and a hanging little Billy
My much loved Mexican Sugar Skull
 Big Ol' Mirror
My little baby - Lulu Guinness handbag
 A selection of statement rings
One of my faves! My Russian Doll

And that is it for today's post, I hope you enjoyed!

What's the most random thing in your bedroom?

My Current Hair Care Routine

Hello my lovelies, I hope you’re all well!

Today I am going to go through my hair care routine. My hair is quite long, thick and naturally curly/wavy so I need to use a few different products to tame my mane! I do have highlights in my hair as well so there is a bit of damage that I like to try and take care of!

So first up is what I use in the shower. So before I get in, I make sure to brush my hair to get all the tangles out – I use the Tangle Teezer to do this! Then when I’m in, first I use the TRESemmé Keratin Infusing Shampoo which is good for taming frizz, which I get a lot of. I work this into my scalp, coming down a bit onto my mid-lengths but not on my ends and wash out.

For conditioner I use two mixed together. Before applying, I try and get the majority of the water out of my hair by wringing it out. Then I split my hair into two sections and apply a small amount of the TRESemmé 7 Day Keratin Smooth Conditioner into the mid-lengths and ends of my hair and comb through with a wide-tooth comb. After this, I put on the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Deep Treatment Masque over the top, again focusing on the mid-lengths and ends, then comb through again.

I try and leave my conditioner on for about five minutes to let it do its thaaang then I wash it all out.

After I get out the shower I like to towel dry my hair. I do this by squeezing my hair with the towel, not rubbing as that could damage your hair and make it frizzy and fuzzy!

When most of the wetness is out, I like to spritz a bit of Aussie’s Miracle Hair Insurance and brush through. Then I put on my split end treatment and hair oil. At the moment I’m using TRESemmé Split Remedy and got2b Oil-licious Tame & Shine Styling Oil. I use a few pumps of each and work them into my mid-lengths and ends then brush through again.

 Boots - £4.49

Now styling! Before I put any heat on my hair, I spray on some L'Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Volume Heat Protect Spray which I am loving at the moment. Then I blow-dry. After I blow-dry my hair is literally a big fluff ball, It’s just so thick and long, I physically can’t style it from this point, it’s completely unmanageable so after this I straighten it so I can use that as a base.

I section my hair, spray a lil more heat protection and straighten using my GHD Gold Max Styler (the big-uns!).

When my hair is nice and straight, depending on what time it is I do different things. If it’s bedtime, I plait my hair into two pigtails and go to bed. Or if it’s daytime I’ll style my hair either from straight or go in with my BaByliss Soft Waves Hair Tong.

I’ll be doing a post about my go-to hair styles so keep your eyes peeled for that!

But that’s it for my hair care routine. I know it seems like I use a lot of product in my hair but it works for me and my hair type. I wouldn’t necessarily suggest anybody do this routine if you have fine, short hair as you would probably get a lot of build-up but as I said, it works beautifully for me and I’m left with soft, bouncy hair!

I just want to say as well, I don't do this EVERRRRYDAY, I wash my hair twice a week using this routine!

Hope you enjoyed! What is your favourite hair care product of the moment?

August Favourites

I can't believe its 1st September today! Where has August gone, it's crazy!

Today I am going to talk about what I had been L-O-V-I-N-G in August and still loving now actually so let's get cracking!

First, I’m going to start with a non-beauty favourite which is the TV series Breaking Bad (For anybody that doesn't know, it's about a Chemistry teacher who has cancer and his ex-pupil who partner up and start cooking crystal meth). Yes I am so late on the band wagon it’s unreal! But recently me and my boyfriend started it, as it was conveniently on Netflix and now we are literally hooked. The series starts off a bit slow but honestly you just have to keep watching it and it gets so god damn good! We’re on season five now so it’s almost over for us, so I don’t know what we are going to do when we finish it, sadface.

My next favourite is ShopDixi, they are an online jewellery boutique who do the most gorgeous pieces. I recently picked up a few bits when they had a sale on and I am literally in love. I got a silver coin necklace, a moon/star ring and a moon bracelet. I have been wearing all the pieces constantly which is strange for me because usually I just wear gold jewellery but I think I have been converted! The three pieces I got were all £5 each which is such a bargain, you can’t really go wrong. I really want some more bits from them; I’ve had my eye on the Crusader necklace for a while now so that might be next on my list…

A big favourite of mine is my Topshop iPhone 5s Case. I'm not sure if this is still available as it's not on the website but I got mine from the Oxford Street Topshop. This case has to be my favourite phone case of all time. It just reminds me of a mermaid, it's so pretty and in the light it changes all different colours which is so nice. It also works as a case, I've dropped my phone multiple times (even down some stairs, lol oops!) and it's protected it so yay for Topshop iPhone cases!

Onto beauty, my first fave is Soap and Glory’s Trick & Treatment. It’s a double-action under eye dark circle corrector and it is AMAZING. It hides dark circles brilliantly without feeling cakey on your face. It has a slight shimmer it in too which isn’t too much, it makes your under eyes look awake and dewy. I really love the thin formula; I much prefer it to thicker concealers that are on the market.

Next up is Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara and their Subversion lash primer. I recently got their Naked Flushed palette and it came with a free sample of the mascara and I thought it was amazing so I had to buy the full size. The full size came with a deluxe sample of Subversion so I was very happy about that! The two together are just amazing, my lashes have never looked better. They are long, fluttery and super volumized at the same time! If you haven’t tried this combo, I would seriously recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!

The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet is my next favourite. I love this stuff, for anybody that hasn’t guessed, it’s a moisturising face sorbet and when they say it’s a sorbet, it really is! The texture is literally like a sorbet and when you put it on your face, it is so nice and refreshing, the scent is lovely too. It was especially nice for August as it was so cooling, I’m not sure in the winter months it will be quite as pleasant because of the cooling effect but I will have to let you know!

My next favourite is Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight Edition Eau de Toilette. I got this for my birthday from my boyfriend’s mum and dad and I love it! The bottle is just so pretty; I have it on full display on my dressing table at the moment. And the fragrance is beautiful. It’s so summery and floral; it has Marc Jacobs Daisy in there, but with other scents that compliment it perfectly. I have been wearing this every day since I got it, I am in love.

Another thing I have been loving is Soap and Glory’s Hocus Focus. It’s an instant visual flaw-softening illuminator and is such a versatile product, I love it. You can use it so many different ways but what I have been loving is mixing it in with my foundation to create such a dewy, luminous finish. But of course you can just use it as a highlighter or use it mixed with your moisturiser for days where you don’t want to wear heavy makeup, but still want a little something-something.

So that is it for my August faves, I hope you enjoyed the little read and I will see you on my next post!
